ETOS Symposium at Evonik – A Unique Opportunity for Networking and Exchange

On October 7th, 2025, our annual symposium took place at our partner Evonik in Hanau– a special highlight for everyone involved. With around 80 participants, the event once again provided an ideal platform for intensive scientific exchange and fresh ideas.

The day began with a keynote by Mr. Heiko Mennerich, Head of Next Generation Technologies at Evonik, whose presentation “WE GO BEYOND TO ENABLE TRANSFORMATION” set the tone for an inspiring day.
Throughout the event, our cluster projects presented their latest results in informative talks. A poster session enabled direct interaction among participants and offered space for in-depth discussions.

A particular highlight was the ETOS Research Award Ceremony, where Ms. M.Sc. Carla Marie Stork (MPI CEC) and Ms. M.Sc. Liana Savintseva (KIT) were honored for their outstanding scientific achievements. The Research Award gives the winners the opportunity to undertake a research stay or attend a conference abroad.

The day concluded with various lab tours on Evonik’s premises – a rare opportunity to gain insights into the state-of-the-art facilities.
